Week 10


Blogging is appealing to customers looking for answers about your product. At times, a customer may want to purchase some of what you have to offer but might not have an idea on how to style what your selling. If it's a dress with complex print, or a long necklace or statement jewelry, a blog post, and an embedded video will do the trick and help you make a sale. See it like the salesperson who is there to answer questions! When you go to a store it's great to have the sales associate ready to make suggestions and typically that is what will get you to buy the item. That's the same for online shopping. A blog can and will do just that! It will also help potential customers become interested in your brand and in what you have to say about it. If you share your story on how you became a store owner, or what you may deal with on a day to day basis once in a while, you may trigger people's emotions who are in the same shoes as you and you can gain a following. Now, it doesn't make sense for you to write a journal about your personal life unless you are like the brand, So Worth Living, which is a community for sad people who try to cheer each other up, then that makes sense for your brand. However, if you are a cheerful brand on folk home decor and you're talking about how difficult it is for you to import the products, or what a terrible experience you had dealing with the customs brokers and such, people will not know what you're talking about and you will confuse them. Guess what? You will probably lose customers because nobody really likes a downer.

    That's a great idea to view the blog as representing a salesperson to help a shopper with questions. I also like the idea that you made about embedding a video/photo to help the audience visualize the product on someone.

    As the phrase says "everything enters through the eyes" Videos are a great tool to not only watch the quality of a product in action, but also to show how to use it.
